Maine Forest Yurts is located on 100 private acres on Runaround Pond in Durham, Maine. Our campground is nestled in a pristine setting perfect for an overnight, a weekend excursion or a week long retreat. The property is 5 minutes from Bradbury Mountain State Park, 15 minutes from Freeport (L.L. Bean) and only 30 minutes from Portland. Accessible year-round, experience seasonal adventures including kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, cross country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, or just sit back, relax and take in the natural surroundings.
Runaround Pond
Runaround Pond is composed of two shallow, river-like tributaries approximately 2 miles long. This quiet pond is perfect for a peaceful paddle in a canoe where you can view wildlife including beavers, otters, osprey, kingfishers, herons, turtles, bass and pickerel. And during the winter, the pond makes for great ice skating and cross country skiing.
